Ultrasound/9 weeks

We got to see our baby today!
Baby at 9 weeks
Here was my experience.
Before I went, they told me I had to drink 32 ounces of water.  I drank 40 for good measure.  I was sooo uncomfortable during the ultrasound!  The nurse was pressing in on my stomach and bladder so much that all I could do was pray that I didn't pee on myself.  The second she said "ok" I jumped off the table and ran to the bathroom.  Whew.  Barely made that one.

When I got back into the exam room it was time to do ultrasound #2.  Nobody told me about ultrasound #2.  I thought that they rubbed goo on your belly and bam, baby and bam, done.  Nope.  Ultrasound #2 was not nice but that was the one that actually allowed us to see the baby so I guess it was worth it.  We got to see the heartbeat which was beating like crazy so that was really cool.  After that the appointment was over.  It was pretty quick and fairly painless.  I was disappointed about several things though.
1.  The ultrasound lady was not very friendly.  At least not at first.  She didn't tell me about anything she was doing or anything she was seeing on screen with the baby.  She didn't really talk to us at all.  I got no information about the size or age of the baby or anything like that.
2.  She wouldn't let us take pictures.
3.  We didn't get to HEAR the heartbeat.  At least I saw that it was beating though, so that makes me feel better.
4.  The printer wasn't working so I didn't get a print out of my ultrasound :(( This was the worst not only because I really wanted a picture but because that seriously messed up my plans with making Christmas cards for my family.  She said I could try calling the office tomorrow or in a few days to see if they were able to get a print out yet.  Ugh.

After the nurse saw how disappointed we looked, she did let us take a picture of the computer screen so that's how I got the picture above.  I'm still going to try to use it for my Christmas cards although I already tried printing one at work and it came out really blurry so we will see how well this works. :/
