Comic book nursery

We decided months ago (way before I got pregnant) that if we ever had a baby boy, we’d do the nursery in a kind of comic book theme.  I read somewhere that babies love bright colors and that it helps them learn better so we thought the comic book theme would be fun.  While looking for ideas online, I found this guy that draws comics.  He had a drawing of spiderman posted on his site so I emailed him and asked if he would or could draw any other (baby) characters and if he would sell me some.  He said yes and that he’d draw me anything that I wanted.  Score!  I asked for a wolverine, superman, batman and hulk.  He did the Hulk pretty quickly so here’s the two he’s already done.  I think they are really cute.  I told him that we didn’t know the sex yet and that I’d let him know as soon as I knew but he wanted to go ahead and start the drawings just for fun.  He’s a pretty cool dude.  I want to hang these in frames in the same style as the picture below.  I think they’ll be 5x7s. The framed comic books is cool too.

The drawings that internet dude did

I also want to do a comic bubble with the baby’s name on the wall too.  We just need to decide what color to do the walls and what the main print (or color) in the room will be (for crib bedding, curtains, etc).  I can’t wait to start decorating.  I think we have about 8 weeks before we can find out the baby’s sex, which puts the date at the end of February/beginning of March.  Boo.   OH and I got this cool little DC super heros pop-up book a while back to leave open on the bookself.  It was only $7 so if the baby isn’t a boy then Preston will just get the book.  Hehe
The batman pop-up page, it even lights up!

I have no clue what we’ll do if it’s a girl… I guess I should start looking for girly room ideas just incase.  I can tell you that the room will definitely not be pink though.

  4. This is great! We're also doing a comic book themed nursery too. My cousin is drawing baby versions of Superheroes for us. To keep it gender neutral I also want to add Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Rogue.

  7. You can still do a Super Hero Nursery for girls! We're doing a gray room with primary yellow, red, white and blue for our little girl's nursery. We're just focusing on Super Girl, Wonder Women and Bat Girl!

So tired little girls stuck with flowers and baby animals! Girls are SUPER too!
